Just a few short years ago, In 2009, Hope Valley Baptist Church presented “Christmas, 1944”. This play was written and directed by Ken Smith, Minister of Music. We are pleased to provide you an opportunity to relive that evening.

Steeped in the worst economic crisis in decades! Sharply divided by bitter political differences! Committed to new policies by a new president with radically new ideas – loved by some; hated by others!

Attacked without warning by a ruthless enemy willing to die rather than lose!

Embroiled in a war on two fronts that seems impossible to win!

Mourning the loss of thousands of men and women fighting far from home!

It’s Christmas 1944.

In a world gone crazy, the only thing to hold onto is the message of the season!

Today is the Fourth Sunday of Advent. Our Old Testament Reading comes from Isaiah 7:10-16, and our Gospel Reading is from Matthew 1:18-25.

Today is the Third Sunday of Advent – Joy. Dr. Bill Pyle brings us the message, “To Tell The Truth.” Our Scripture reading is from Isaiah 61:1-4, 8-11. We will also be reading from the Gospel of John 1:6-9, 19-28.
