Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent, the 40 days that precede Easter. In Scripture, the number 40 reminds us of the rainy days and nights that Noah spent on the ark, of the years that Israel spent in the wilderness after the Exodus, and of the time Jesus spent in the wilderness facing temptation after His baptism. For us, Lent is an invitation to spend 40 days of renewal, 40 days to prepare ourselves to hear and absorb the amazing Good News of Easter. It is a season during which many Christians devote themselves more deeply to study, prayer, service, and even fasting or sacrifice. May this season reminds us that we are sinners who depend on God’s love and grace to overcome sin and death and that the resurrection of Jesus means that our mortality will give way to resurrection and new life.
A Mountaintop Experience
The mighty one, God the LORD, speaks and summons the earth.
Our God comes and does not keep silence.
He calls to the heavens above and to the earth below.
“Come to me my faithful ones.”
“Call upon me in the day of trouble,
I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”

What’s Going Around
Praise the LORD.
How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
The LORD sustains the humble but casts the wicked to the ground.
His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior;
The LORD delights in those who fear him.
We invite you to join us for this week’s Worship Service. We will be reading from Mark 1:29-39 and Isaiah 40:21-31. Our Call to Worship comes from Psalm 147. You can find the bulletin and resources for Children and Families at the links below, in printable Adobe® PDF format.
As One With Authority
Praise the LORD!
I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart.
Great are the works of the LORD,
studied by all who delight in them.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom;
All those who practice it have a good understanding.
We invite you to join us for this week’s Worship Service. We will be reading from Mark 1:21-28 and Deuteronomy 18:15-20. Our Call to Worship comes from Psalm 111. You can find the bulletin and resources for Children and Families at the links below, in printable Adobe® PDF format.
He Got the Call
For God alone my soul waits in silence,
for my hope is from him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation,
I shall not be shaken.
Trust in him at all times,
Pour out your heart to him.
God is a refuge to us.

Christmas Eve 2020
On this holiest of nights, we come, joining the shepherds who are stunned by wonder.
On this most silent night, we come, our hopes and dreams joining those of Mary and Joseph.
On this night of carols and candlelight, we come, our glad songs joining with the choirs of angels.
We come to hear good tidings of great joy: Christ the Lord is born.
This is good news of great joy for all people!
Let us break forth together, into singing, for the Lord gives hope to His people.
The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light. Those who lived in a land of deep darkness – on them the light has shined.
Jesus Christ is the light of the world!
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
We call His name Emmanuel,
For He is “God with us.”
Tonight, we celebrate the birth of Christ by lighting the Christ candle.
Joy to the World! The Lord is come!
