Thank you and looking forward!

I want to thank everyone again for your support of our Youth Ministry. Our Yard Sale greatly helped us in fundraising for Passport this summer. If you contributed in any way, thank you! We had a lot of people who supplied donations for the sale and many came by to make purchases. We also had a lot of people who helped through volunteering. This Yard Sale wouldn’t have been possible without all of you, thank you for what you did!

The Youth Lock-In will be Friday, April 12th at 7 pm – April 13th at 9 am. Youth are encouraged to bring their middle school and high school aged friends! If you are interested in helping with the Lock-In or if you have questions, please contact me. It’s going to be a fun night that all will enjoy.

On Saturday morning, the Youth will be performing a brief presentation of the Easter story at the Easter Egg Hunt. Youth should arrive at the church at 9:30am. Also, Saturday at 6pm the Youth will be having their own Easter Egg Hunt. We will be serving dinner.

In our Young Adults’ Sunday School class, we’re currently going through the Epistle to the Romans. If you’re looking for a Sunday School class to attend, we invite you to come and be with us!

May the Lord bless you and keep you.

In Christ,

Chase

Youth & Young Adult Opportunities

I want to thank all of you who helped support our Youth during their 30 Hour Famine this year. With your donations, we more than tripled our goal of $1000.00! I hope to announce a final amount of donations received soon.

Please take note of some important upcoming dates:
Saturday, March 23rd, the Youth are planning a Yard Sale here at the church. All money raised will go toward our upcoming Passport Summer Missions Camp. Those of you wishing to donate items may drop those off at the church Thursday – Friday, March 21st and 22nd. Any good condition donations will be very much appreciated. If you’re looking for an opportunity to serve, we also need volunteers! See either Melissa Love or myself to find out what you can do to help our Youth get to Passport.

Sunday, March 24th is the deadline for Youth to register for Passport. The deposit amount for registration is $50.00. The total cost of the camp will be $333, but we expect to cover most of the cost with fundraisers. We need to know how many we will be taking this year!

Friday at 7pm – Saturday at 9am, April 12th – 13th, the Youth will be having a Lock-In at the church. Youth are encouraged to invite their middle and high school aged friends for what will be an incredibly fun night!

I am thankful for the beginning of our college/grad-school aged dinner group. I’ve really enjoyed our conversation and Bible study together and am looking forward to our continued fellowship. We meet on Tuesday evenings at the McAlister’s off of 15-501 (at 5318 New Hope Commons Drive) from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m., and we invite any young adults looking for a casual Bible study to join us.

May God bless you and keep you!

What’s Happening With Chase

Grace and Peace!

I am so blessed to be able to see and take part in all of the wonderful things our Youth group is doing. Our time is limited during the academic year, but when the summer ended we decided to be resolute in consistently continuing our ministry of spreading the love and joy of Christ with the residents at the Spring Arbor Assisted Living community. I am thankful for a place so close by that gives our Youth the chance to do the work of God’s people.

The Youth will also soon be beginning to raise funds for the 30 Hour Famine. These funds go to feed starving children across the world. As many of you know, the 30 Hour Famine involves our own Youth going without food for a period of 30 hours in order to raise these funds. Not only does the Famine raise funds, it also raises awareness about those far less fortunate than us whom God has called us to help and to feed. This year the Youth will start their 30 hours on Wednesday, March 6th.

On Sunday nights we’re studying the Book of Acts, learning how we are to live faithfully into our Christian story today and in this place, just as the first followers of Jesus did in their own context. On Sunday mornings in the Young Adults’ Sunday School class, we’ve finished our “sweep” of the Old Testament, and will be beginning the Letter to the Romans this Sunday.  If you’re looking for a Sunday School class, we invite you to join us!

Finally, the Youth will be having a Lock-In soon and are encouraged to invite their friends! Details forthcoming…

May the Lord be with you and keep you!

In Christ,

Chase
