Girls in Action
The GA's are asking for items to help the Samaritan's Inn in Durham. The Samaritan Inn works with homeless women and children. We are collecting personal hygiene items: deodorant, disposable razors, shaving cream, shampoo, soap, toilet tissue, toothbrushes, toothpaste, towels, and washcloths. Sample size or full size items are needed. We have put collection boxes in the main room of the Family Life Center and in the entry way to the Adult Sunday School Classes.
Mission Friends Update
This month the Mission Friends are learning about missionaries,
Angela and Jason Pittman from Miami, Florida. Jason is the director
of Touching Miami with Love and Angela is the special events coordinator.
Touching Miami With Love is an inner-city ministry for individuals
and families. They have something for everyone in the family. At this
time of the year they are offering a free income tax return service.
The Pittman’s stay especially busy with the camps for children and
youth. This month the Mission Friends are asking for our help in collecting
supplies for the summer camps. Items include pencils, markers, crayon,
paper, stickers or any type of art or craft supply. Collection boxes
have been placed in the Family Life Center and by the entrance to the
Adult Sunday School Hallway.
It's Time
Five Sunday School Classes will be participating in the It’s
Time study. We also want to form four – six small groups
for individuals who cannot participate during the Sunday
School time frame. If you want to be involved, please sign
up as soon as possible. Also, if you want to lead a group,
please contact Lloyd or Mike Dossett.
Ladies Book Club Update
The Ladies' Book Club will meet on Sunday, April 13 at 7:00 P.M. in the Family Life Center. The book for this month is Every Secret Thing By Ann Tatlock.
All ladies are invited to this time of discussion, food and great fellowship. You are welcome to join the group, even if you haven’t read the book. Bring your “sweet tooth” along too, because it is dessert night. Now you really can’t refuse the invitation!
